Chinese IT tipster Digital Chat Station has shared new information via Weibo about Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone. According to the report, the device will feature a 7.76-inch internal display with a resolution of 2713 × 1920 pixels. This main screen will reportedly incorporate under-display camera (UDC) technology, marking a significant advancement for Apple's display implementation.

The external display is reported to be 5.49 inches with a resolution of 2088 × 1422 pixels and will feature a punch-hole camera design.

Previous Reporting Confirmed

These new details align with earlier reports from the same source that claimed the internal display would have a 4:3 aspect ratio. Notably, respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has confirmed the accuracy of these screen dimensions, adding that the foldable screen would be designed without a visible crease—addressing a common complaint about current foldable smartphones.

Apple's Foldable iPhone: Additional Features and Design Elements

This is the first mention of Apple potentially using under-display camera technology in the foldable iPhone, suggesting the company is pursuing cutting-edge display solutions for this new product category.

Companion Foldable iPad

Industry sources indicate Apple is simultaneously developing a foldable iPad. Digital Chat Station previously reported that this larger device would feature built-in Face ID, suggesting Apple may be working toward design consistency across its foldable product line.

Camera and Authentication

Kuo predicted that the foldable iPhone would utilize a dual-lens rear camera system. Interestingly, the device may incorporate Touch ID into a side button rather than Face ID, potentially to conserve internal space in the folding design.

Production Timeline and Pricing

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the foldable iPhone could launch next year with a premium price point of approximately $2,000 (roughly 2.84 million won).

Manufacturing Progress

Analyst Jeff Pu from GF Securities reports that the device has entered the final stage of product development—the new product introduction (NPI) stage—at manufacturing partner Foxconn. Mass production is expected to begin in the second half of next year, suggesting a potential late 2026 release date.
